Where is the welcome from Gaiam?
Where is the welcome from GAIA?
A purple banner and a sneaky new TOU?
NOT ONE WORD OF WELCOME?
Not one word for this glorious community of light
on its first day of assimilation?
just ....a tiny "Powered by zaadz."
......as though zaadz was a new widget
no celebration, no joy, just "business" as usual.
?zaadz who?

But really, if you have suggestions as to how we should celebrate, or what sort of announcement we should have (a newsletter note?) please please please speak. I'm up for running around and leaving a personal note on every blog I can find.

It has been an honor and delight to meet your energy at zaadz and share the growth of this community with you. The fact that you are still up and moving says so much about you after such a long day. I thank you for the most precious gift of your passion focused on zaadznowgaia. You have truly changed my world and many others for the better and I will always be grateful to you for that. I have never doubted your good intentions and this community is very blessed to have you. I also want to say that I have no preconceived ideas of what will happen with gaia and zaadz. I wish it all the success in the world. All I know is how I feel about it right now.
“We are Gaia.” you say. To me that is like saying “yellow is purple.” Zaadz did not become Gaia. Yellow did not become purple. The two joined together have formed an entirely new thing and this is what I think needs to be taken into consideration. I 'joined zaadz on purpose because I agreed with so many of the wonderful intentions that created it. My zaadz presence has been assimilated into Gaia, I did not choose to join it. I don't know enough about it to decide if I want to join it. I knew the intentions of zaadz, but what are Gaiams? That TOU spoke volumes to me.

I understand… and I didn't mean to be flip or to invalidate your feelings and the sheer heart of what you wrote. Perhaps I should say that we have an opportunity here; this is the creation of something new, and how we each choose to show up, and the intentions we bring, is going to determine what happens as a result.
Those terms I'm just embarrassed about. Someone, in another post, asked me to stop being wishy-washy and just to step up and OWN them instead of pointing at the lawyers who were just doing their jobs, and I feel I should do so. Again, we sent off our old terms to the legal team, asked them to look them over and to make sure Gaiam was protected, and then blithely signed off on what was returned. This was foolish and naive and I feel terrible, still, for not have paid more attention to the community's rights and perspectives. Again, I'm so sorry for that.
Lesson learned.
